Plus size and mid size mens wear

I have recently found a very interesting topic that I would like to talk about that I don’t see often enough and that is good mid size and plus size mens wear. I feel a little disappointed that it often kind of gets pushed away and not talked about because everyone deserves to have access to fashionable clothes that they feel confident in. Often in society it is already hard if you don’t meet beauty standards and then not having clothes available that make you feel confident can be very difficult. Of course not all beauty standards are the same around the world and sometimes being larger in size is actually a sign of wealth and well being so please keep that in mind as we go along as well as that it is not wrong to have a larger size.

Now I did spend some time on Pinterest searching through plus size and mid size outfits and stumbled across an amazing content creator that is known on Tik Tok and instagram and now expanding to Pinterest. He posts some amazing outfit ideas and is a great source of inspiration as he is a plus size content creator. He goes by he/him as well as they/them you can find him on Pinterest @poshheat. I really enjoyed his combination of masculinity and femininity in his outfits. Which brings me to a good point of saying yes there is not a lot of good looking plus size mens wear, but there is a good selection of woman’s plus size clothing that also work for men. There should be no shame in also looking in the woman’s section as a man and also the other way around because it seriously doesn’t matter. If you do feel like you want something more on the masculine side then I would suggest looking into street wear as it often involves baggy jeans and lose tops which are pretty easy to find in shops and local thrift stores. If you do like to do up-cycling or sewing you could add some fun alterations to old clothing to make it match your personality or more comfortable to wear. If you need some inspiration don’t worry I have a whole Pinterest board full of ideas that you can find on my profile which is @justasklilky10094. If you don’t have the time, material or skill to upcycle clothing don’t worry I have found some stores that have larger sizes.

  1. Dickies: has a good amount of trousers and a few other things I would recommend looking in the mens big and tall section
  2. H&M: they have an extended sizes section that is pretty decent, works best for casual wear.
  3. Urban outfitters: they go up to XXL on a few items, but I do have to mention that they don’t have a large range which should definitely be improved, but they are great for graphic hoodies and tees.
  4. Cider: now cider does do womenswear only, but you can find many gender neutral pieces that would still work for men. They are also good in size inclusivity as they go up to a 4XL.
  5. Ralph Lauren: they also have a big and tall section that works well for preppier looks.
  6. ASOS: they also have a plus size mens wear section that works well especially for more trendy clothing.

That is it for this week. I hope that I was able to help some people out, don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest @justasklilly10094 and stay tuned for the next blog post.
