Routines making and breaking them

Making and breaking routines. Routines are something that is important to me and my daily life. Just about 5 weeks ago I didn’t have an a stablished morning routine to follow and often forgot to do Important things before I left the house. If that is to apply sunscreen or to take my lunch. This often caused problems to my day and even my productivity during the day. Eventually I decided to change that habit and create a morning routine and here are some things I considered

  1. What time should I get up/ how much time do I realistically need to get ready
  2. what is the first thing I want to do in the morning
  3. what do I not want to include in my morning that currently is part morning
  4. what is something that will make me feel good and boost my productivity
  5. What nutrition does my body need in the morning
  6. what is the least important part of my routine
  7. what do I need to last before leaving the house

These are for me very essential questions and you can use these as a guide to create your own morning routine. Feel free to adjust these questions so that what you think is important is also included.

A difficulty with creating these routines is obviously following them. Which is why you really need to think realistically. For example if you want to get up early don’t move your routine from waking up at 8:00 am to waking up at 6:30 am. Be abuse that is just un realistic and make it harder for you to follow. Instead go in steps, for one week wake up 10 minutes earlier each day. That will increase your chances for reaching your goals. Another important part of creating your routine is to get rid of certain things that are unnecessary, it helps creating way more relaxed feeling in your morning and actually make things less stressful for you as you can then fully concentrate on the more impact things.

Breaking routines is also an interesting concept because we create routines to feel organised and in control maybe Ben more relaxed, but I think we all at one point of our lives felt a need to break routines do something out of bounds break free in a way. Lately that is also something that I have felt a lot and the question is how de we balance these two.

My suggestion would be to change something either in your appearance or something in your routine.

• dye your hair. It is pretty cheap and if you don’t want to go permanent use semi permanent hair day that washes out. https://amzn.to/42caUFW (This one’s my favourite, the red looks really good also on brown hair without bleaching it)

• start some type of new activity like learning a language or doing yoga

• join a club this can also help you meet new people which opens new opportunities for you

Or anything in that direction. The main idea is to keep your main routine the same but add something new and fun and that is it for this week and make sure to stay tuned for our next article.
